Who we are

This privacy note covers the Mobile Simulator marketing site at https://msim.app and the related Mobile Simulator MSIM Responsive Viewer Chrome extension published on the Chrome Web Store.

Cookies

msim.app uses a small cookie / local storage consent banner. You can choose Accept analytics or Essential only. You can change that later via Cookie settings in the site footer.

Essential

• Consent preference, stored in your browser (localStorage key msim_cookie_consent) so we remember Accept vs Essential only.
• Security / hosting, standard server or CDN logs may still process technical request data needed to deliver the site.

Optional analytics (only after Accept)

• Google Analytics 4 cookies / storage (measurement ID G-X3C1WRRXK7) for traffic and product events.

Until you accept, analytics storage stays denied through Google Consent Mode. Choosing Essential only keeps analytics off for this browser profile on msim.app.

Website (msim.app)

Google Analytics

When analytics cookies are accepted, the website uses Google Analytics 4 (property measurement ID G-X3C1WRRXK7) to understand traffic such as approximate location (city/country level), device type, pages viewed, and referral sources. We may also record a small set of product events on the landing pages (for example install clicks).

Google may process data under its own terms and privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy. Where enabled, Google Analytics may use cookies or similar technologies.

You can withdraw analytics consent anytime with footer Cookie settings, or limit cookies via browser settings, extensions, or Google’s own tools.

What we do not do on the site (currently)

• We do not require an account to browse the landing page.
• We do not intentionally collect payment card data on msim.app.
• We do not sell your personal information.
• We do not use advertising cookies or ad personalization on msim.app.

Chrome extension

The extension is designed to preview web pages in multiple device sizes in your browser. It uses these Chrome permissions:

• activeTab, access the page you are viewing when you use the extension
• scripting, inject the multi-device preview UI into the current tab
• storage, remember local settings (for example display preferences)

Simulator settings stored via chrome.storage stay in your browser profile unless you clear extension data or uninstall the extension.

The extension does not need your Google password and does not require a Mobile Simulator account for core use.

Affiliate / partner links

We may later show recommended tools with affiliate or partner links. None are active on this site right now. If we add them, we will disclose that clearly. Third-party sites have their own privacy policies.

Third-party services

• Google Analytics 4, website analytics (measurement ID G-X3C1WRRXK7)
• Google Chrome Web Store, distribution and store listing for the extension
• Hosting / CDN providers, standard server logs may include IP address, user agent, and request path for security and reliability

Data retention

Analytics retention follows the settings configured in Google Analytics. Hosting logs are retained only as long as needed for operations and security, subject to our host’s defaults. Extension local storage remains until you clear it or remove the extension.

Children

The product is aimed at developers and web professionals. We do not knowingly target children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region).

Changes

We may update this note when our practices change (for example if we add a new analytics or support tool). The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do.
